Reeds Spring Man Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison For Raping Young Girl:

A man from Reeds Spring has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of statutory rape/or intercourse with a child under 14 years-old for an incident earlier this year.

Patrick Carl Shepherd, 29, was charged in September after he admitted to authorities that he had sex with the girl while "he was very high on prescription drugs."    He said when he realized what was happening, he stopped. He told investigators that he and the girl had another sexual encounter two weeks later.

Shepherd told cops that he used to be a “cutter” and noticed that the victim was as well.  He told investigators that he wanted to help the girl and "listen" to her.
