Judge Orders Parole Board To Reconsider Cases Of Three Women Convicted Of Killing Spouses:

A Missouri judge has told the Probation and Parole Board to take another look at the cases of three woman charged with killing their spouses because of domestic or physical abuse.

The domestic violence law enacted two years ago was designed to aid people sentenced to life in prison (before 1991) for killing their spouse or domestic partner if they had been a victim of physical or sexual domestic violence.

Cole County Judge Richard Callahan vacated the decision to deny parole to Roberta Borden of Springfield (a.,) Vicky Williams and Ruby Jamerson.

Callahan told the board they have 90 days to reconsider the cases and explain their decision.
